Do I need a VOC?
Verification of Competency (VOC) requirements are site and/or company specific. If the work-site you would like to work at, requests you to provide a current VOC for a specific piece of plant or to undertake a particular task, you are required to comply.
How long does a VOC take?
The time required to undertake a VOC will depend on the plant or activity needing to be verified.
The Trainer / Assessor will assess the candidate’s knowledge and skills with the criteria outlined in the questionnaire. A trainer/assessor has technically checked these training documents to ensure that training requirements have been met.
Once the assessment has been completed successfully the practical testing is to be completed with a trainer / assessor. It is to include pre-start and functional tests.

What do I need to bring when I do the VOC?
Persons undertaking a VOC must provide evidence of their existing competency, wear appropriate PPE and provide proper identification. Contact us for more information.

What is a VOC?
A Verification of Competency (VOC) is a method of assessment used to demonstrate the person’s ability to operate equipment and/or undertake the responsibilities of a certain job role. Vortex Education offers VOC s face-to-face with both theory and a practical assessment process, which will evaluate whether your knowledge is current and sufficient to meet the requirements of the task and/or job role.
